We’re attending the Conservative Conference

Community Integrated Care will be joining key decision-makers, politicians and fellow care sector colleagues at the Conservative Party Conference this week (2nd to 5th October), at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.

Our charity will be taking part in a number of engagements throughout the week.

The first event “Can We Fix Social Care?” is being hosted by the Future Social Care Coalition (FSCC) on Monday 3rd October 3:45pm-4:45pm. We’ll be adding our charity’s voice to the call for social care reform and better reward and recognition for the social care workforce.

The second event, “The Care Debate”, will be hosted by the National Care Forum (NCF) on Tuesday 4th October at 9.15am-10.30am. The session aims to influence the policy direction of the new Prime Minister’s Government and asks that they put not-for-profit care and support at the centre of policymakers’ thinking.

Our Head of PR and External Affairs, Amanda Wood, will be joining the NCF and the FSCC on both panel events to advocate for our incredible colleagues.

Amanda said, “Both events are a fantastic opportunity for us to ensure the new PM and her ministers hear first-hand how crucial supporting social care is – not just for our colleagues and the people we support, but for the wider economy too. I’ll be making sure that this Government hears just how skilled the social care workforce is and as such, deserving of better pay and recognition.”
