The 2021 Census with Easy-Read

Every 10 years, a Census is launched to paint a picture of the people and households in England and Wales. This survey helps the Government and local authorities to make decisions – including planning and funding for public services, such as education and healthcare.

Community Integrated Care have adapted an Easy-Read guide to be shared with people with complex care and support needs. The guide, adapted from Census’s official piece, has been shared across the charity for colleagues to use when supporting people to complete their survey.

This guide itself contains explains what the Census is, why it must be complete, the benefits of completing a Census and the repercussions of failing to do so. The document can be distributed as a resource for trusted members of people with care requirements to support them when navigating their way through completing the survey.
