Safari comes to Pemberton Fold

Staff and residents of Pemberton Fold Care Home in Manchester were treated to a very special visit from the animals of Home Safari for a session of animal assisted therapy.

It has been recognised by health professionals that animal therapy can benefit a person’s health and wellbeing. As well as offering a stimulating and exciting experience, the visit from the safari group provided residents with a great talking point for a long time afterwards!

Residents and staff all got the opportunity to hold and interact with all the animals, which included a meerkat, a bearded dragon and a skunk; however the most popular was the snake, who made quite an impression on the residents! Not only did the residents enjoy the experience, but also the animals, as the meerkats had a great afternoon climbing on the residents’ walking aids!
