Remembrance Day marked at Community Integrated Care

Both the people we support and our colleagues throughout our services took the opportunity to mark the special anniversary, 100 years since the end of the First World War, by remembering those who have dared to protect and defend our freedom or have lost their lives during conflict.

Remembrance Day was marked this year at Community Integrated Care through a range of activities across our services and offices. The people we support at Pemberton Fold Care Home in Salford created a memory poppy tree where residents wrote their thoughts on their poppies and reminisced about their war time memories, whilst other residents in Cornwall Park Care Home in Newton Stewart, Dumfries & Galloway were busy making hundreds of poppies to commemorate 100 years of remembrance.

We also came together in the community in remembrance with veteran groups, local dignitaries and the public, whilst the people we support at Woodlands Drive in Stockport took a trip out to a remembrance service in the community.

In our charity’s Head Office in Widnes, and in addition to our Regional Offices, we observed the traditional 2 minute silence on Friday 9th November at 11am remembering and respecting all the service men and women who have served in conflict.
