Celebrating 55th Wedding Anniversary

Despite care homes across the country being on lockdown, the team at Community Integrated Care’s EachStep Blackburn Care Home were determined to help one of their residents, Norma Campbell, and her husband Harry celebrate their 55th Wedding Anniversary!

55th Wedding Anniversary

Harry, who is originally from Glasgow met Norma at a dance he went to by chance in Rochdale in 1962, marrying in April in 1965 and going on to have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

Before the Coronavirus began, Harry visited Norma every at the care home to catch up. The team at EachStep decided to make use of modern technology to arrange a special catch up over FaceTime to mark the momentous day!

Harry Campbell, Norma’s husband says, “It was lovely to be able to see Norma and know that she was safe and well. EachStep Blackburn is a wonderful care home with fantastic staff and I couldn’t be happier that Norma lives there as I know how well she and all the other residents are being cared for, particularly at this difficult time. I would like to thank all the team for all they are doing.”

Victor Phiri, Manager at EachStep Blackburn Care Home says, “It was our honour to help Harry and Norma celebrate their special day as best we could in the current situation. It’s important to keep the spirits of our residents up and thanks to modern technology we are doing everything we can to help keep families in touch with their loved ones at this time.”
