Shortlisted for Four Care Awards

The effect of the Coronavirus has impacted the lives of many across the world, especially those working within the health and social care sector. Teams on the frontline have faced countless challenges that will undoubtably impact their lives forever, yet it is in these challenges we’ve seen some of the very best of social care taking a shine on what they do to support the more vulnerable members of society.

Community Integrated Care, one of the UK’s biggest and most successful social care charities, have been shortlisted for four fantastic accolades at the National Care Awards 2020!

The charity, which supports over 4000 vulnerable members of society, has faced a tough year with the impact of Covid-19: one service in particular has felt the pressures of the pandemic. EachStep Blackley, a Dementia Specialist Care Home, has been shortlisted for the ‘Outstanding Care in a Crisis’ award following their appearance on the heart-wrenching BBC One Panorama documentary filmed earlier this year.

The Forgotten Frontline captured the incredible efforts of the team battling against an outbreak of Coronavirus within the Care Home, alongside showcasing the extraordinary professionalism of Care Home Manager, Michelle Phillips, whose father – a resident in the home – contracted and fought off the virus during filming. Michelle has also been shortlisted for the Best Care Manager & Best Dementia Care Manager at the National Care awards.

Finally, the CEO of Community Integrated Care, Mark Adams, has been recognised for the prestigious Care Personality Award. Mr Adams has been advocating for the social care charity since the start of the pandemic, battling the Government and making continuous media appearances in an attempt to stand for the social care sector.

The virtual ceremony for the National Care Awards is taking place later in the month.
