Community Integrated Care Partners with Changing our Lives

Community Integrated Care is proud to be working alongside rights based organisation, Changing Our Lives, to develop a range of accessible information for the people we support.

Changing Our Lives LogoAs of 1st August 2016 all organisations that provide adult social care are obliged to follow the Accessible Information Standard, which means that people with disabilities should be able to access information about their support in a format that suits their needs.

Colleagues from Quality, Communications, Training and our National Voice Group have come together to develop a suite of accessible materials including a safeguarding leaflet, an easy-read complaints procedure, personalised promotional leaflets for prospective tenants or residents, and accessible letter templates.

The team will be working alongside their colleagues in services to expand on this in the coming months to suit the needs of the people they support.

Jayne Leeson MBE, CEO of Changing our Lives, says: “It’s great to see Community Integrated Care embracing the Accessible Information Standard. There is a real drive within the organisation to ensure that people who receive their services are given information that can put them in greater control.”
