Success at the Skills for Care Accolades 2020

Community Integrated Care is delighted to have won a prestigous Skills for Care Accolade, at a glittering ceremony which took place in London on Wednesday 22nd January. Skills for Care Accolades

The charity collected the ‘Most effective approach to integrated new models of care’ award as a result of their partnership with Super League and the Rugby Football League (RFL), which has saw the three organisation’s collaborate to form the ground-breaking programme, the Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League.

On winning the award, judges said of the iniative: “Community Integrated Care demonstrated a very different approach to integrated care.The judges were impressed with the effective integration of people with learning disabilities and the wider community, and the benefits and opportunities that this type of collaboration offers.”

The Skills for Care Accolades, hosted by Strictly Come Dancing Star Anton Du Beke, celebrate the amazing achievements of the best employers in the adult social care sector. Now in it’s 17th year, other finalists included care providers from across the sector, local authorities and individual employers.

The night also saw Community Integrated Care being awarded Highly Commended for the ‘Best Employer of over 250 staff’ cateogry.

For this cateogry, judges commented that: “Community Integrated Care included some excellent examples of good practice which impressed the judges. There was also evidence of a clear investment and importance in learning and development with their new ‘Dare to Learn’ platform, showing that the charity is on a clear journey of improvement.”

Skills for Care is an organisation dedicated to workforce development in adult social care in England, with the Accolades being one of the most prestigious nights in the social care calendar. The organisation stated that all finalists demonstrated their expertise in recruiting the right people with strong core values and that they had succeeded in developing their staff’s skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the people they support.
