People We Support Shine in Aberdeen Pantomime

Aberdeen Arts Centre was filled with laughter, applause and a touch of fairy tale magic on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November, as Cinderella in Chaos took to the stage – a unique pantomime starring and co-created by our colleagues and people supported by Community Integrated Care.

The show – which saw a delightful, comical take on the classic tale of Cinderella – marks the fifth of its kind as part of an initiative started in 2019 by local care provider, Inspire, before it merged with Community Integrated Care.

The annual event has since provided opportunities for local people with support needs to engage with the arts, learn new skills and make connections in the community. It celebrates inclusion, creativity and community spirit.

Earlier this month, the initiative was even awarded ‘Event of the Year’ at the 2025 Celebrate Aberdeen Awards for last year’s Peter Pan: Adventure in Neverland Pantomime, celebrating the creativity, dedication and community spirit of all those involved.

Karen Wood, Head of Operations at Community Integrated Care, said, “I’m so proud of everyone who took part in this year’s pantomime. The dedication and hard work behind the scenes really shone through on stage, and the result was magical.”

“For many of the people we support, this was their first opportunity to be part of a live production, and it’s been life changing. This initiative has created a space where people can build confidence, make new friends, and develop creative skills – all while working towards their own personal goals too. Over 500 people attended across the two performances, and all proceeds will go towards our charity and funding next year’s pantomime. A huge well done to the whole team!”
