Mark Adams to step down as CEO this Autumn

Community Integrated Care has today announced that our Chief Executive, Mark Adams, is to step down from his role at the end of September.

After an incredible five years at the helm of our charity, Mark will be returning to the United Arab Emirates, where he will become the CEO of a leading healthcare group.

Mark joined Community Integrated Care in September 2017 and his departure follows five years of significant transformation and growth for our charity. Under Mark’s leadership, we have strengthened our core values through the delivery of our We Dare strategy, bolstered quality across our 450 services, developed new and exciting partnerships and led the campaign for fair pay, respect and recognition for the social care sector.

One of Mark’s greatest achievements has been his creation of a strong and capable leadership team at every level of the organisation, giving us stability and direction through some very challenging times. It is those challenging times that will be Mark’s greatest legacy – his confident, composed and compassionate leadership of the charity through the worst crisis in our history – Covid-19.

More recently, as we’ve looked to the future, Mark has spent many months working closely with our Board of Trustees and his senior leadership team, to develop our strategic blueprint for the next five years: Best Lives Possible.

Community Integrated Care’s Board of Trustees have now started the process of recruiting a new CEO, with the charity’s Policy Group Executive Team collectively leading the charity in the interim.

Libby Raper, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Community Integrated Care said: “Mark has made a remarkable difference at Community Integrated Care. He has been an outstanding leader, driving considerable transformation within his tenure, strengthening the charity at every level, and becoming a passionate champion for the Social Care sector. Will we all miss Mark hugely, and he will leave with our sincerest thanks and best wishes for his next step.”

She continued, “Over the coming months, I’ll be working closely with Mark, our Executive Team, and our Board of Trustees, to ensure consistency of leadership, ahead of a new successor being appointed. As we look to the future, we do so safe in the knowledge that Mark’s vision, passion and relentless hard work have put us in a great position, as we step forward into our plans for the next five years under our Best Lives Possible strategy.”

Mark Adams, Chief Executive Officer at Community Integrated Care added: “Serving as Community Integrated Care’s CEO has been an incredible honour and will forever be the highlight of my forty-year career. I feel unbelievably privileged to have witnessed first-hand, the life-changing support that social care provides to society, and the transformative work of our frontline teams, who truly create the best lives possible for the thousands of people we support.”

He continued, “We have achieved so much together over the last five years, and have placed Community Integrated Care at the forefront of quality, social impact, and workforce standards in our sector. Whilst I know there is much further to go in providing fairer pay and a better career for everyone working in care, I step down knowing that Community Integrated Care’s dedicated Executive Team and Board of Trustees will continue to make great strides towards making this vision a reality.”
