A Fond Farewell to Trustees

At Community Integrated Care’s September 2014 Board of Trustees, we said a fond farewell to our three longest serving Trustees.

Simon Attwell (Chair of Trustees 2009-14), Nick Hawkins and Paul Rundle, all stepped down after serving the maximum tenure for a Trustee in our charity. At this board meeting, Dame Joan Stringer was elected as our new Chair of Trustees.

Chartered Accountant and Former Group Director of Finance for Tunstall, Simon Attwell, had held the role of Chair since 2009 and been a Trustee at the charity for twelve years. During his time in our Charity, Simon had supported us to grow significantly and develop award-winning specialist care services. Last year he supported our organisation to develop an ambitious five year strategy, which has the vision of Community Integrated Care becoming The UK’s Leading Health and Social Care Charity by 2017.

Both Nick Hawkins and Paul Rundle also enjoyed over a decade at our charity.

Nick, who is a Chartered Marketer and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, was a key member of our Nomination Committee. He also generously shared his knowledge of Marketing and Business, gained through his role as Programme Leader of Executive Programmes at the European Centre for Corporate Governance, Liverpool John Moores University Business School.

Retired business consultant, Paul Rundle, was the Chair of our Remuneration and Nomination Committees. He generously shared with us his experience of management and organisational change, providing invaluable strategic guidance.

Neil Matthewman, Chief Executive of Community Integrated Care, says: “On behalf of our charity, I would like to thank Simon, Paul and Nick, who have collectively given Community Integrated Care over three decades of dedicated service. They have helped our organisation to grow and become more effective, giving us a strong foundation to make an even greater contribution to society over the years ahead.”

He adds, “We are delighted that we have been able to appoint Dame Joan Stringer, one of Britain’s leading public sector figures, as our new Chair. We believe Dame Joan is the right person to drive forward our ambitious plans and build upon Simon, Nick and Paul’s exceptional work.”
