Community Integrated Care honoured with Employer of the Year award!

Community Integrated Care scooped the Care Employer accolade at the Great British Care Awards, which celebrates excellence throughout the social care sector.

At the glittering ceremony, Community Integrated Care recorded a double success also winning Care Team of the year for colleagues at West Lodge, a supported living service in Penshaw.

The prestigious awards which took place in Gateshead on Saturday night, saw the charity shortlisted for 3 further honours celebrating Tammy Wallace for Care Manager, Annette Moses for Care Newcomer and Cathy Logue in the Care Worker of the Year categories.

“I’m so proud of the whole team. For over 20 years we’ve provided exceptional care for people in the North East and we are honoured to have our commitment to colleagues recognised” says Jane Beresford, Director of People at Community Integrated Care. She continued, “we continually strive to be an employer of choice, with a culture that invites everyone to have fun and bring their full personalities to work.”

Marc Brodie, Managing Director for the North East commented on the success, “This really is an award for everyone across the organisation and celebrates the fantastic work all our teams do every day.”

Over the last year, the charity has put people at the centre of what they do, investing in a £100,000 Wellbeing Fund, whereby colleagues can apply for grants in times of hardship, along with the introduction of a national employee forum and a long service recognition scheme.

The winners are now through to the National finals of the Great British Care Awards, taking place in March 2019, celebrating excellence in social care and paying tribute to incredible individuals.
