Anniversary Celebrations Named an Event of the Year

Community Integrated Care’s 25th Anniversary celebrations, which took place last year in Manchester, have been named as one of the Events of the Year at the UK Event Awards.

Community Integrated Care Awards

Community Integrated Care held a daytime conference and evening awards celebration at Emirates Old Trafford Manchester on 28th November 2013, to celebrate our quarter century. The event, which was managed by our internal Communications and Marketing Team, has been shortlisted for the In-House Event of the Year Award at the prestigious UK Event Awards. The ceremony takes place a year to the day of our anniversary celebrations, on 28th November, at London Marriott Grosvenor Square.

The conference, which was attended by almost 200 of Community Integrated Care’s staff and professional partners, brought together a high-profile panel of speakers from both the social care and commercial sectors, to debate key issues in care. It featured the likes of Dr Ann Johnson, Alzheimer’s Society Ambassador; Helen Sanderson, expert in person-centred planning; and Debra Moore, who oversaw a landmark review following the Winterbourne View crisis.

The evening awards ceremony was attended by around 500 people, including many of our colleagues and the people we support, as well as our professional partners. It was hosted by Coronation Street star, Julie Hesmondhalgh, who is known to millions as the beloved character Hayley Cropper. Julie presented 17 awards to staff and people supported by Community Integrated Care, recognising their dedication and success.

The event also saw Community Integrated Care launch a new rebrand for our charity, to the surprise and excitement of guests. The celebrations were supported by sponsorship from some of our key suppliers.

Our in-house Marketing and Communications team of three were shortlisted for the accolade in recognition of the significant return the event delivered for our charity. The event generated media coverage that reached over one million people, successfully launched the biggest rebrand of our history and truly celebrated the legacy of our charity. It received exceptional feedback from guests, with all attendees feeding-back that the event exceeded their expectations.

Neil Matthewman, Chief Executive of Community Integrated Care, says: “Our 25th anniversary was an important moment for us to reflect upon the amazing history of our charity. Our in-house team helped us to do this with style, and achieved some incredible results. Our ceremony celebrated and raised the profile of our charity, and launched an exciting new look for us in the years ahead. I’d like to congratulate our Marketing team for this well-deserved recognition and wish them well for the big event.”
