Griffin Lodge Scoops GB Care Award North West

Community Integrated Care is proud to share that the team at our Griffin Lodge service in Stockport were crowned winners of the Care Home Team Award at the Great British Care Awards North West on Saturday 8th November.

Three representatives from the Griffin Lodge eam stand holding their award. They are in black tie attire and smiling to camera. The recognition celebrates how the team have gone above and beyond over the past 12 months, particularly in advocating a person they support, Frederico, and supporting him to undergo life-changing surgery and a kidney transplant. Thanks to their skill and commitment, he received the medical care he needed and he’s now back home and living life to the full.

Judges said, “The Griffin Lodge team exemplifies exceptional teamwork and a truly person-centred approach. Guided by shared values, they listen, adapt, and innovate to meet each individual’s needs. Their creativity, resilience, and mutual support turn challenges into opportunities, transforming lives and creating an empowering, inclusive, and welcoming home.”

James Gandy, Registered Manager at Griffin Lodge said, “I’m so incredibly proud of the team – not just for winning this award but for the effort, enthusiasm, professionalism and dedication that they show every day. We’ve had a few big challenges to face over the past year, including supporting Frederico through his kidney transplant, but the team have faced it all head on with creativity and compassion. I couldn’t be happier for the team, and for the people we support who inspire us to be brave and do our best, each day!”

Cairi McKenzie, Head of Complex Care at Community Integrated Care, said,This award is a testament to the incredible dedication, compassion, and teamwork shown by everyone at Griffin Lodge. Their commitment to delivering truly person-centred care, especially during such a pivotal time for Frederico, is nothing short of inspiring.
