Zsuzsi raises £1,000 with 5K run

We’re delighted to share that Zsuzsi Bodnar, one of our Support Workers in Portsmouth, has raised an incredible £1,000 for our supported living service, Redbridge House!

Zsuzsi completed the Great South Run 5K as part of a fantastic fundraising effort, which will go towards the purchase of sensory equipment and home comforts for the people we support.

Opened earlier this year, Redbridge House provides specialist support for people with complex care needs, empowering them live independently in their own homes.

Since day one, the team has worked tirelessly to make the Redbridge House feel warm and personal. Fundraising has played a big part in this mission, with funds spent on sensory items, kitchen appliances, and Christmas gifts.

An avid runner, Zsuzsi decided to combine her passion for sport with her commitment to the people she supports. Her efforts will fund equipment and activities that enrich lives.

Zsuzsi said, “I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved as a team over the past few months – from raising funds to creating a home where people can thrive. I’m overwhelmed by people’s generosity and so grateful for all the donations – they’re going to make such a difference. Thank you to my colleagues, the people we support and their families for helping spread the word about my sponsored 5K. It’s thanks to them that we’ve been able to raise so much.”

James Sainsbury, Regional Manager at Community Integrated Care, praised the team’s dedication. He said, “The Redbridge House team has shown incredible commitment and creativity since opening. This fundraising effort is a perfect example of how they go above and beyond to enrich the lives of the people they support. We’re so proud of Zsuzsi and the whole team for making such a positive impact.”

Zsuzsi is already planning her next challenge – a 10K run in March – and hopes to build up to a marathon in the future.

We’d like to say a big well done and thank you to Zsuzsi for her brilliant efforts. You can find out more about Community Integrated Care’s supported living services here.
