We Join House Of Lords Afternoon Tea With CWC

On Wednesday 17th September, colleagues from Community Integrated Care were honoured to join a special celebration at the House of Lords, hosted by The Care Workers’ Charity, in celebration of Professional Care Workers’ Week.

The event was hosted by Baroness Kay Andrews OBE and marked the first anniversary of The Care Workers’ Charity Advisory Board and Champions Project – a network that brings together people from across the sector to share insight, drive change, and champion the incredible impact of care workers.

Amandajayne Swann, one of our Support Workers from Nottingham, proudly attended the event as a member of the The Care Workers’ Charity Advisory Board. Also attending to represent our our charity and show support to the group, was Head of Operations, James Brind.

Sharing her reflections, Amandajayne said, “Professional Care Workers’ Week is such an important opportunity to shine a light on the highly skilled, inspiring and compassionate workforce that makes social care so special.”

“It was an honour to attend this event at the House of Lords with my fellow care sector colleagues – recognising the impact we’ve made together through the Advisory Board and Champions Project, and the exciting steps ahead. It was a powerful moment of recognition for the work we do representing care workers – making sure our voices are heard at the highest levels.”

“I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all my colleagues across the care sector who work tirelessly to empower the people we support to live the best lives possible – you’re truly inspiring, this week and every week.”
