Trustee Imogen Shillito visits North West Services

Yesterday, Trustee Imogen Shillito who joined our charity in March, was delighted to visit two of our North West based services.

Colleagues and the people we support were delighted to welcome Imogen into their homes, eagerly sharing their stories and experiences with her.

Hosted by Head of Operations, Caroline Hanlon, the day started at Glenwood, where Imogen was introduced to Registered Manager, Karen Hayes McGuirk, and the people supported at the service. Imogen chatted to colleagues, learning about their journeys into the care sector.

Karen then introduced the pair to Rob, a person supported who moved into the service just last week. She explained that Rob’s family were delighted to see him back in his hometown of Widnes, after spending eight years living in Cardiff.

The visits continued to Warrington, where Imogen and Caroline visited Bewsey House Supported Living Service.

Service Leader, Abdeslam Walehiane provided a tour and introduced Imogen to Sam, a person supported who was in the process of moving into a flat next door to her brother. Sam has invited Imogen and Caroline to visit again, once she has settled into her new home, promising them a cup of tea and a chance to meet her cats.

Caroline Hanlon, Head of Operations said, “Imogen’s visit really brought a smile to the faces of colleagues and people supported at the two services. She was interested to learn about our colleagues’ careers, along with the journeys and experiences of the people we support. I’d like to say a big thank you to Imogen for her continued support, and to all colleagues and people we support who welcomed us with such open arms yesterday.”
