Singapore’s National Disability Agency Visits Community Integrated Care
On 24th February, our Westminster service was proud to welcome representatives from SG Enable, Singapore’s national agency for disability and inclusion, for a day of shared learning focused on person‑centred care.
SG Enable plays a pivotal role in shaping disability policy, service delivery and inclusion
across Singapore. As part of their ongoing work to strengthen national care systems, the organisation is exploring opportunities to learn from UK providers. Their aim is to build on international examples of effective person‑centred practice, safeguarding models and integrated approaches that improve outcomes for people with disabilities.
The visit began with a comprehensive presentation delivered by Service Leader James Kerrison, who introduced our approach to person‑centred support and outlined how safeguarding is embedded across training, staffing and everyday practice. James also talked through how colleagues are supported to deliver consistently high‑quality care, and shared insights into our application of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), among other frameworks that guide our work.
Following the presentation, the SG Enable team toured the service, gaining a first‑hand understanding of our environment and daily practice. They spent time visiting the supported living apartments and meeting several of the people we support – an aspect of the visit they highlighted as particularly meaningful and insightful.
Reflecting on the visit, Caroline Robins, Head of Operations, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome SG Enable to our Westminster service and share the work our teams do every day to support people to live fulfilling, person-centred lives. Their interest in learning from UK practice reflects a real commitment to improving outcomes for people with disabilities in Singapore. We were proud to showcase our approach and to connect with an international organisation who shares our values around dignity, independence and high-quality support.”
The visit concluded with an agreement between both organisations to stay connected and continue exploring opportunities for shared learning.
At Community Integrated Care, we are committed to working in partnership with organisations who share our values and our ambition for a more inclusive world. We thank SG Enable for their dedication to strengthening disability support – and for travelling so far to collaborate with our teams.
