The service, which is part of national social care charity, Community Integrated Care, will support seven adults with a range of support needs including learning disabilities and autism, to live independently in their own homes.

Previously a 10-bed residential home, Redbridge House has been renovated to provide an adaptive and inclusive living environment, thanks to a collaboration between Portsmouth City Council and our charity.

The launch event saw families of the people supported, colleagues from our charity and local council representatives come together, as well as a special visit from the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Gerald Vernon-Jackson.

Guests had the opportunity to tour the new space, meet the team and celebrate the opening of the service. They also had the chance to connect with colleagues across the local authority and begin collaborative planning to support the transition of the people supported into their new homes.

Caroline Robins, Head of Operations at Community Integrated Care, said, “We are so proud to be opening a new service in the area, supporting more people across Portsmouth. It was fantastic to meet with our colleagues from Portsmouth City Council and the families of the people supported, and to begin planning together to support people as they move into their new homes. We’d also like to thank the Lord Mayor for joining us to celebrate and find out more about the impact that Redbridge House will have for local people with support needs. We can’t wait to see everyone move in and thrive in their new homes.”
