Pete hosts his own art exhibition

Pete, a person we support from Buckie, has fulfilled his dream by hosting his first art exhibition – thanks to the dedicated support of his Support Worker, Sasha Stuart.

To give him the confidence to share his talent with a wider audience, Sasha suggested the idea of an exhibition within his own home. Since then, the pair worked tirelessly to bring his vision to life.

With a degree in Fine Art and Textiles, Sasha played a big role in every step of the process – from supporting him creating his artwork, to planning the event and designing posters to invite his loved ones. Her commitment and encouragement ensured that every detail was thoughtfully executed.

The exhibition was a success with many of Pete’s friends, family and people who support him coming together to admire Pete’s work and congratulate him on his accomplishments. Pete was thrilled with the opportunity to present his paintings and receive recognition for his artistic talent.

Pete said, “I can’t believe my dream has come true! I was overjoyed when I saw the room packed with my friends, family and the people that support me coming to admire my paintings. Being able to display my work for others means the world to me. I love to paint because it is so relaxing and if I feel like I am having a bad day, I can always count on painting to make me happy.”

Sasha said, “I am so proud of Pete for chasing his dreams. He’s such a creative person and painting really brings him a lot of peace and fulfilment. Everyone needs support and encouragement to make their dreams come true and I am honoured I could be that support for Pete. Bringing his vision to life has been really rewarding and inspiring and has reminded me that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and have the right people cheering you on.”

Pete is now planning his next exhibition with Sasha where they hope to showcase some original pieces that the pair are collaborating on together.
