MP Vikki Slade Visits Bournemouth Service
Community Integrated Care was proud to welcome Vikki Slade, MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole, to one of our Bournemouth support services on 31 July.
The visit was a chance to shine a spotlight on the incredible achievements of the people we support, and to give Vikki a first-hand look at the vital role that social care plays in building independence, confidence, and the best lives possible for people who draw on care and support.
During the tour, the people we support proudly welcomed Vikki into their home, sharing personal stories about their journeys and the difference the right support has made to their lives. From celebrating small everyday victories to showcasing individual talents, the visit captured the essence of what high-quality care can achieve.
Caroline Robins, Head of Operations, reflected on the occasion, “We had a brilliant day – Vikki was fantastic and genuinely interested in their lives. She asked thoughtful questions and showed a real passion for helping people and learning more about our sector.”
This visit also provided an important platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the social care sector, from ensuring fair pay and recognition for care workers, to creating inclusive opportunities for people with support needs in the local community.
We extend our thanks to Vikki for taking the time to learn more about our charity, listen to the voices of the people we support, and champion the value of social care in our communities.
