Celebrity Chef Champions Inclusive Cookery Initiative
One of Britain’s most beloved celebrity chefs, Rosemary Shrager, is proudly backing Care To Cook – a pioneering programme that empowers people who draw on social care to cook with greater independence and confidence.
Speaking at a special kitchen-side chat at the Care Show London 2025 at the ExCeL Arena, Rosemary shared her enthusiasm as a founding Ambassador of www.CareToCook.co.uk.
Co-produced with expert chefs and individuals with lived experience, Care To Cook offers accessible recipes, video tutorials, and live classes with celebrity chefs. The programme aims to promote healthy living, teach essential life skills, and support independent cooking for people in care.
Known for her roles in Ladette to Lady, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, and ITV’s Cooking With The Stars, Rosemary helped launch the initiative earlier this year with a live cook-along that reached care services across the UK. Since then, she has remained a passionate advocate, drawing a packed audience of care leaders at ExCeL to hear her insights and encouragement.
Rosemary said: “I really want to get the message out there that Care To Cook is such a unique platform. It encompasses everything that you would want in a care setting – from accessible recipes to budgeting advice, to advice on reducing food waste and Easy Read cookbooks. Most importantly of all it is accessible to everyone for free!
“As an official Ambassador– and someone who has worked with Community Integrated Care and had the honour of connecting with the people it supports- I am delighted to raise awareness of the charity and this campaign. It is such a wonderfully simple campaign that changes lives.”
Rosemary was joined on stage by Briony Davies, Partnerships Development Manager, who said: “Care To Cook is transforming lives by making kitchens places of confidence, creativity, and connection with brilliant resources and experiences. It’s more than just a cooking programme – it’s an inclusive movement that empowers healthier, happier, and more independent lives.
We’re incredibly proud of the momentum that is being build nationwide, and Rosemary has been vital in this success. We invite everyone in the care sector to explore the free platform to discover delicious meals and brilliant advice for empowering the joy of food.”
Rosemary was proudly presented with a Special Recognition award by the charity at the event to celebrate her contribution. She said: “Receiving this award is a real honour. This is just the beginning of a great journey.”
