Amanda Martin MP Visits Temple Court
On Friday 6th March, we were pleased to welcome Amanda Martin, MP for Portsmouth North, for a visit to our Temple Court supported living service in Portsmouth.
The team at Temple Court support 11 people with a range of support needs, including people with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and autistic people.
During the visit, Amanda met with colleagues and people we support, and spent time learning about the vital role the team plays in enabling people to live with independence, dignity and choice in their own lives.
The visit provided an opportunity to highlight the positive impact of high‑quality supported living and the commitment of our teams who make this possible every day.
Caroline Robins, Head of Operations at Community Integrated Care, said: “We were delighted to welcome Amanda to Temple Court and give her the opportunity to see first‑hand the incredible work our colleagues do every day to empower people to live fulfilled, independent lives. It’s so important that local decision‑makers understand the realities of social care, and we’re grateful to Amanda for taking the time to meet our teams and the people we support.”
“We also appreciated Amanda sharing some of the initiatives currently being developed by the council, including the introduction of a roaming dental bus to help improve access to dental services for our communities. She was equally keen to learn more about the challenges we face, such as early hospital discharge and the need for more dedicated Learning Disability nurses in hospital settings, and she expressed a strong commitment to helping address these issues.”
