New Extra Care Service Opens in Halewood

Community Integrated Care were proud to attend the opening of the brand-new Extra Care service, Arncliffe Gardens, hosted by our partners at Plus Dane Housing earlier this month.

The Extra Care service opened its doors earlier this year in Halewood, Liverpool, offering state-of-the-art facilities and tailored support for people with learning disabilities and age-related support needs.

The development is set to ensure that local people have access to high-quality, independent living with additional care and support when required from the on-site Community Integrated Care team.

The special opening event saw a warm reception from the community, with pupils from Holy Family Catholic Primary School burying a time capsule which will be opened in 50 years’ time. Colleagues from Community Integrated Care also joined the celebration.

Arncliffe Gardens consists of 19 apartments for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions and 58 apartments for those aged 55 years and over with housing and support needs.

Each of the spaces are designed for independent living, with a focus on accessibility. Communal areas such as lounges, dining spaces, a hair salon and a therapeutic sensory garden have also been incorporated to promote social interaction and a sense of community among residents.

Caroline Hanlon, Regional Manager at Community Integrated Care said: “It was fantastic to attend the launch of Arncliffe Gardens – the new development is incredible, and I know people will be thrilled to call it their new home!”

She continued, “As a charity, we’re proud to be delivering flexible support at the service for those that need it, enabling people to live independently in their communities for as long as possible. With a staff team onsite around the clock, people have the security of our support being there for when they need it.”
