Celebrating Two National Awards Finalists
Community Integrated Care is proud to celebrate having two finalists shortlisted at this year’s National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards, taking place on Friday 19th June.
The National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards celebrate excellence, innovation and outstanding practice across the sector, recognising individuals and teams who make a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
This exciting event comes during Learning Disability Week, making the recognition even more meaningful as we celebrate the rights, achievements and potential of people with learning disabilities across our communities.

Positive Behaviour Support Award – Brackley House
Our team at Brackley House in Stockport has been shortlisted for the Positive Behaviour Support Award, recognising best practice that enhances quality of life through values‑led, evidence‑based approaches.
As a newly established service, the Brackley House team has already delivered outstanding, measurable outcomes for the people they support. Through personalised Positive Behaviour Support strategies grounded in active listening, intensive interaction and proactive support, the team has significantly reduced anxiety, distress and the need for restrictive interventions.
Their work has supported improved emotional wellbeing, stronger communication, meaningful routines and genuine community inclusion, including supporting one individual to secure voluntary work aligned with his lifelong passion.

Manager of the Year Award – Terri Douglas
Meanwhile, Terri Douglas, one of our Service Leaders in Scotland, has been shortlisted for her exceptional leadership in the Manager of the Year category.
As Service Leader at School Close in Kirkcudbright, Terri has demonstrated outstanding vision, compassion and commitment to person‑centred support. Since joining the organisation in 2018 as a Support Worker, Terri has progressed to a Service Leader and played a pivotal role in transforming services, supporting people to move successfully into supported living while maintaining stability, dignity and choice.
Terri’s collaborative leadership style and focus on team development have led to improved wellbeing, stronger relationships and better outcomes for the people supported.
Jim Kane, Chief Executive Officer at Community Integrated Care, said, “To have two finalists at the National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the dedication, values and talent of our colleagues. During National Learning Disability Week, it’s especially powerful to see our teams recognised for work that genuinely changes lives and champions inclusion, independence and quality of life. We wish Terri and the team at Brackley House the very best of luck at the awards and are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved.”
