MSP Visits Our Services In Inverurie
Community Integrated Care was delighted to welcome Gillian Martin MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Aberdeenshire East and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Action and Rural Affairs, to visit two of our services in Inverurie on Monday 22nd June, offering a first-hand look at the impact of social care in local communities.
The visit included a tour of one of our award-winning Inspire…By shops, where Gillian saw how the shop provides meaningful opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autistic people to develop skills, gain work experience and connect with their community.
The next stop was a visit to St James Court Supported Living, where Gillian was welcomed into people’s homes and had the opportunity to meet colleagues and people we support. The visit highlighted how personalised support enables people to live independently, build relationships and have real choice in their lives.
Karen Wood, Head of Operations at Community Integrated Care, said, “We were delighted to welcome Gillian Martin MSP to our services and to showcase the incredible work taking place in Inverurie. It was a fantastic opportunity to highlight how high-quality, person-centred care enables people with learning disabilities and autistic people to live independently, achieve their goals and make valued contributions within their communities. We are proud of the work our teams do every day and grateful for the opportunity to share this with Gillian.”
