We’re Proud To Support JRF Social Care Report
Community Integrated Care is proud to have contributed to a new report from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) – ‘The Hidden Cost of Low Pay in the Social Care Sector.’
Highlighting the financial and operational consequences of consistently low wages in social care, the JRF calls on policymakers to ensure fair pay and sustainable careers in the sector.
The report draws on interviews and financial data from care providers across England. As one of the UK’s largest social care charities, Community Integrated Care was pleased to share our insights and expertise to inform this vital piece of work.
The findings echo our charity’s long‑standing calls for sector‑wide investment and a fair deal for frontline colleagues who deliver life‑changing support every day.
Teresa Exelby, Chief Corporate Services & People Officer at Community Integrated Care, said, “We’re proud to have contributed to this important report, which shines a necessary light on the financial and operational challenges currently facing care providers, and the stark realities facing so many dedicated people who work in social care. Our colleagues provide extraordinary support that enables people to live fulfilled, independent lives, yet too often their pay does not reflect the true value of their work.”
“This report reinforces what providers across the sector have been saying for years and what we’ve been campaigning for through our Unfair To Care reports – change is urgently needed. We stand with JRF in calling for a more sustainable, fairly funded social care system that recognises the skill, commitment and value that our workforce brings every single day, and supports people to live full and independent lives.”
