Brickfields win at GB Care Awards West Midlands
We’re thrilled to announce that our Brickfields Supported Living service in Worcester won the Housing with Care Award at the prestigious Great British Care Awards West Midlands, held on Saturday 1st November.
This incredible achievement recognises the outstanding dedication of our Brickfields team, who empower six individuals with a range of complex support needs to live fulfilling lives in their own homes and communities.
The award recognises how the team have transformed lives over the past 12 months – supporting people to move from institutional settings into independent living, helping them build confidence, reduce challenging behaviours, and discover new hobbies and friendships. From attending college courses to meeting snooker legends, the people supported at Brickfields are thriving thanks to the team’s dedication.
Judges said, “We were particularly impressed by the team and their manager’s commitment to a person-centred approach, not only in supporting the individuals they support but also in fostering and guiding her team with the same dedication and thoughtfulness.”
Sherraden Murphy, Service Leader at Brickfields, shared her pride: “I’m absolutely over the moon for everyone at Brickfields. Every single colleague brings compassion, skill and heart to their work, and this award is a reflection of their unwavering commitment to ensuring people live amazing, full lives. It’s also a testament to all of the incredible achievements of each person we support – through their perseverance and enthusiasm they continue to reach their goals, grow in independence and inspire us everyday. I couldn’t be prouder.”
Edd Terrey, Managing Director for Community Integrated Care, added: “This award is a powerful recognition of the exceptional work taking place at Brickfields. The team has shown incredible skill, expertise and compassion in supporting people with highly complex needs to live the best lives possible. Their commitment to Positive Behaviour Support and person-centred care has enabled individuals to make the life-changing move into independent living and empowered them to build confidence and thrive in their communities.”
“I’m also incredibly proud of our brilliant team at Millers Yard for being recognised and shortlisted for the Putting People First Award, and for our charity as a whole being shortlisted for Care Employer. These recognitions reflect the passion and excellence across our organisation.”
