Proudly Celebrating 10 Years of Support in the Highlands
Community Integrated Care is proud to be celebrating 10 years of providing care and support across the Highlands in Scotland, marking a decade of helping people live connected, independent and fulfilling lives within their local communities.
Over the past ten years, colleagues have worked alongside people we support, families and community partners to create opportunities, build meaningful relationships and support people to achieve their goals. This weekend’s celebration provided a chance to reflect on that journey and recognise the many people who have been part of it.
People we support, families, colleagues and community partners came together to celebrate this special milestone, recognising the relationships, achievements and memories that have shaped the past decade.
The evening began with a performance from the Caithness Junior Pipe Band, providing a memorable welcome for guests as the celebrations got underway.
A highlight of the event was hearing contributions from people we support, who shared their experiences and reflections. Through videos, they celebrated personal achievements, friendships and the positive impact that support has had on their lives.
The milestone provided an opportunity to reflect on how support in the Highlands has grown and evolved over the last decade, while recognising the important role that families, colleagues and community partners have played in helping people live connected, fulfilling and independent lives.
Sara Murphy, Community Integrated Care’s Managing Director for Scotland, said, “Reaching ten years of delivering support across the Highlands is a fantastic achievement and one that everyone connected with our services should be incredibly proud of. Over the last decade, we have had the privilege of supporting people to lead their best lives, while building strong partnerships with families and local communities.”
“This celebration was a wonderful reminder of the relationships, achievements and shared experiences that have shaped our journey. I’d like to thank everyone who has played a part in our success over the last ten years, and most importantly, the people we support, who inspire us every day.”
Sarah Sinclair, Regional Manager for our Highlands services, said, “Celebrating 10 years in the Highlands was a wonderful opportunity to bring together the people, families, colleagues and community supporters who have been part of our journey. It was an evening filled with pride, laughter and reflection, and a chance to recognise the incredible achievements of the people we support. We are grateful to everyone who has helped make the last decade so special and look forward to continuing to support people to live their best lives for many years to come.”
Kieran Mackenzie, a person we support in the Highlands, said, “I began being supported by Community Integrated Care in 2019 and since then I’ve achieved so much. I’ve lived independently in my own home, gone to college, attended concerts, been on holidays, and have learnt so many new skills from cooking and DIY to having my first driving lesson. Most importantly I’ve made lots of new friends and spent loads of time with my family.”
