We’re set for a Big Adventure!

Community Integrated Care is excited to share the upcoming launch of ‘The Big Adventure’ – a unique, four-week long challenge developed in partnership with technology experts, Okta, that encourages frontline teams across our charity to explore new opportunities with the people they support.

The Big AdventureThe Big Adventure will kick off on Monday 7th August, when our colleagues will be challenged to connect with their communities and get creative, working with the people they support to experience new things – from visiting the best tourist hotspots in their local town or city to exploring lifelong dreams that inspire adventure.

Armed with their Adventure Packs, full of guidance and support, teams will be using the power of online searches to unlock new experiences.

The challenge builds on previous training delivered to frontline colleagues on the best ways to utilise internet search engines to ensure impactful community mapping and better opportunities for the people we support. The Big Adventure further explores ways to get people we support connected and build on their digital skills, promoting digital inclusion across our organisation.

Sam Turner, Digital Inclusion Manager, said, “We’re really excited to launch The Big Adventure and I can’t wait to see the fantastic memories that people make along the way. This challenge is all about celebrating the passions of the people we support; empowering people to explore the world around them and find ways to bring their dreams to life. It even has the potential to have a huge impact on people’s lives in the long-term, as they discover new hobbies and aspirations and build more connections in their communities.”

“We’d like to say a big thank you to Okta for supporting us to create these opportunities for our teams and the people we support, and supporting our people to access technology in life-changing ways. The support they have provided our charity in promoting digital inclusion, has already played a huge part in building people’s independence and ensuring that people can live the best lives possible.”

Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for some of the Big Adventures taking place across our charity!
