We join FSCC rally for social care

Today (9th October), Community Integrated Care’s Director of Partnerships & Communities, John Hughes, will join a range of voices from across the care sector and beyond at The Future Social Care Coalition’s Labour Party Conference event in Liverpool, in a special rally for social care.

Today’s ‘Caring About Care’ event, hosted by the FSCC, will see key speakers come together form across the sector in a rally for social care. They will pose important questions to party leaders about the future of the sector, and once again call for a fair deal and recognition for the social care workforce.

Community Integrated Care’s Director of Partnerships & Communities, John Hughes, will join the rally amongst speakers including: Mayor for Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham; Shadow Secretary (Health and Social Care) Wes Streeting MP; and Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Liz Kendall MP.

John Hughes said: “Our social care workforce is made up of incredibly skilled and hard-working people who bring so much to the people they support, our communities and society at large. I’m really proud to be joining the FSCC and peers from across the social care sector at today’s Labour Party event to share the experiences and challenges that our frontline colleagues face, and to join the rally to government for increased reward and recognition for our incredibly valuable workforce.”

The event will run from 6pm-7.30pm and will take place Nova Scotia, 25a Mann Island in Liverpool. 

John will also be joining our Sports Inclusion Assistant, Matt Price, at Tuesday’s Labour Party Conference event with the National Care Forum, which you can find out more about here.
