Vaccine Expert Joins Our Live Colleague Event

Community Integrated Care is proud to have this week welcomed Dr Hassan Burhan, Consultant Respiratory Physician at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital NHS Trust, to an all-colleague event aimed at encouraging our people to take part in the UK’s Covid-19 vaccine roll-out.

Each month, our charity holds a webinar for all teams, bringing together colleagues at every level to hear important charity updates as well as pose their most pressing questions to our CEO.

Throughout 2021, these events have focussed on the Covid-19 vaccination programme, in a bid to drive participation and encourage colleagues to protect themselves and those around them.

As well as playing an active role on the frontline in Covid-19 wards throughout the pandemic, Dr Burhan was also one of the senior clinicians on the Oxford-Astra Zeneca trial management team. He has also played a key role in important research throughout the pandemic.

The webinar, attended live by hundreds of colleagues, saw Dr Burhan share a real-life account of his experiences on the frontline, and describing the true impact of Covid-19. He also took the time to answer a wide range of questions on the Vaccine, on matters such as safety, efficacy and immunity.

At the event, we were also able to reveal that we had reached the incredible milestone of over 70% of our frontline colleagues had received their first Covid-19 vaccination – a huge step in ensuring the people we support and our colleagues are protected from the virus.

I’m delighted to be able to share my experience and expertise to help dispel any myths or misinformation. I hope everyone can have confidence in the vaccine as it is clearly the key route out of this crisis.”
