Thorney Croft raise £900 after eight mile fundraising walk

Thorney Croft, our specialist dementia service in Stranraer, took on an eight mile walk from their home to Portpatrick to raise money for the people we support.

Thorney Croft eight mile walkSix members of staff took in the scenic views of Dumfries and Galloway, and raised £900 for the people we support. The group enjoyed a leisurely two hour walk, and bucket collected money from the local community along the way.

The money raised will allow the people we support at the home to enjoy great days out and visit places close to their hearts.

Hayley Mann, Assistant Service Manager at Thorneycroft, said: “To raise £900 is an amazing achievement, and this money will give the people we support fantastic days out which we’re all looking forward to.”

She added: “The Stranraer community is a close-knit one and the backing we received was overwhelming. The amount of local people who stopped us in the streets to donate their loose change took us all by surprise, so I’d like to thank everyone for their generosity, including families and friends of the home.”
