The service, which supports four people with learning disabilities, was praised by the CQC for their person-centered approach to care, commending the colleagues at the service for treating the people they support “with respect and great kindness”. The CQC also spoke to relatives of the residents at Sycamore Drive, with one informing the CQC that their family member is “as happy as Larry!” living at Sycamore, and “has never lived anywhere better”.

The report went on to praise the connectivity between our services, and our colleagues’ encouragement of friendships between those we support. The CQC stated that “Friendships had been formed with people from other services within the providers group of services, and regular ‘get togethers’ and social outing took place”.

Vicky Gorman, Community Integrated Care’s Regional Manager for the North East, said, “I wanted to say a huge well done to Sarah Loftus and her team at Sycamore Drive – this report is the result of a lot of hard work, and a testament to the fantastic team!”

Congratulations to all of those at Sycamore Drive on this well-deserved report!
