Susan’s royal meeting makes the Sunday papers!

Dreams came true for our Rugby League World Cup 2021 ((RLWC21) Inclusive Volunteer, Susan, at the  England vs Papua New Guinea RLWC21 Quarter Finals game on Saturday (5th November), when she found out that she’d be meeting HRH the Princess of Wales.

Expressing her delight ahead of the meeting, Susan said, “I’m honoured and privileged to meet the Princess of Wales – it’s wonderful!”

At half time of the match, Susan joined other RLWC 21 volunteers to present the Princess with homemade gifts and share their experiences of volunteering in the tournament.

Showcasing her own homemade baby bonnets, created for babies born prematurely as part of our charity’s Inclusive Volunteering Programme, Susan also had the opportunity to share knitting tips with the Princess!

Susan’s once-in-a-lifetime experience even made the Sunday papers, with reports sharing the special exchange:

Clipping from the newspapers The Telegraph, Hello and The Independent, of Susan's meeting with the Princess of Wales.
