Staff in Leeds make Awards Shortlist

Staff at two Community Integrated Care Leeds services for people with learning disabilities, Leeds Road and Street Lane, have been recognised for their high standards and dedicated approach at two of the UK’s premier care awards.

The services have both been shortlisted at the upcoming Great Yorkshire and Humberside Care Awards, whilst Street Lane has also had the additional honour of being nominated at the prestigious National Care Awards.

The Leeds Road staff team have been shortlisted for the ‘Care Team Award’, recognising their fantastic teamwork in helping the people they support live as full and happy lives as possible.

Paul Thursfield, a Support Worker at Leeds Road is up for the ‘Care Home Worker Award’, in honour of his commitment to delivering personalised care to people he supports.

Marek Dziankowski, Team Leader at Street Lane has been shortlisted for the ‘Frontline Leader Award’ for his outstanding work in supporting young men with learning disabilities and autism to live in their first own home independently.

The Great Yorkshire and Humberside Care Awards, supported by the Department of Health, are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of regional awards which celebrate the excellence of those who work in the care sector. The ceremony will take place at the National Railway Museum in York on November 8th.

The National Care Awards, the social care sector’s premier award event, also reward excellence to those who work in care, and will take place in London on November 29th.

Community Integrated Care’s Regional Director for Central England, Martin McGuigan, says: “Leeds Road and Street Lane are both fantastic examples of services that transform people’s lives in particularly challenging circumstances.”
