Scotland’s Census 2022 with Easy Read

Community Integrated Care have created an Easy-Read guide to support people with complex care and support needs to take part in the Scotland’s Census 2022 on Sunday 20th March.

Scotland's Census 2022

Every 10 years, a Census takes place in Scotland to count every person in the country. The survey helps the Government gather all the important information they need to make important decisions – planning and funding for public services, from education to social care and health provision.

Our Easy-Read guide has taken inspiration from Census’s official document and has been shared across the charity for colleagues to use when supporting people to complete their survey.

The guide explains what the Census is, why it must be completed and the repercussions of failing to do so and is free to access for anyone navigating their way through completing the survey.

Erin O’Neill, one of our charity’s Quality Advisors – a person supported by our charity and also trained and employed by us as an ‘expert by experience’ – shared her advice and encouragement to people we support in Scotland.

Erin said, “Good luck with your Census and remember that they are all anonymous and don’t worry about asking for help because we are all here to support each other.”
