SCIE Showcase EachStep

Community Integrated Care’s flagship dementia care service, EachStep Blackley, has been recognised for its pioneering dementia-friendly environment in a video produced by the Social Care Institute of Excellence (SCIE).

SCIE is an organisation that is renowned for sharing knowledge and championing best practice in the social care sector. They selected EachStep to feature in an insightful film on how a care home’s living environment can impact upon a person with dementia.

The film, which was recently premiered at the National Housing Federation‘s Care and Support Conference in Manchester, will feature on their Social Care TV platform as part of a series promoting best practice in dementia care.

In the video, Sue McLean, Community Integrated Care’s Director of Care Services and Outcomes, speaks in depth about how by creating a dementia –friendly living environment, care homes can improve the comfort, safety and wellbeing of their residents.

Speaking about the feature, Sue says, “Dementia is one of the most challenging issues facing society today, so we were delighted to work with The Social Care Institute of Excellence on this important video. “

She adds, “This feature has allowed us to share our specialist knowledge of dementia with many other care providers, helping to ensure that the great work that goes on at EachStep Blackley not only benefits the people we directly support, but many more people affected by dementia across the country.”
