‘Outstanding Childcare Student of the Year’ Award

Community Integrated Care was proud to sponsor the ‘Outstanding Childcare Student of the Year’ Award at Newcastle College’s graduation ceremony this month.

The sponsorship reflects Community Integrated Care’s growing partnership with the College, who invited Community Integrated Care Regional Director, Wayne Mason, to attend the prestigious ceremony as a guest speaker and present the winner, Brioni Wilson, with her award.

Wayne took this opportunity to talk about Community Integrated Care’s work in the North East, as well as the values and ambitions of the organisation, expressing his delight at being able to set up a strategic alliance with the College.

The partnership will see the College support Community Integrated Care in recruiting students looking to take their first step into a career in Health and Social Care, as well as supporting with workforce development and training. This affiliation comes at a pivotal time for Community Integrated Care as it launches its new Five Year Strategy, which sees the organisation make a long-term commitment to investment in the personal development of staff.

Speaking of the new alliance with the College, Wayne says: “We are delighted to be able to partner with one of the largest and best-performing colleges in the UK. We hope that this will have significant mutually beneficial impact for both students and Community Integrated Care.”

He says: “I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to present this award; it was a real honour and pleasure to meet so many outstanding students, particularly Brioni who really shone in her category. Newcastle College offers fantastic facilities and opportunities to students, and we are very proud to be associated with them.”
