Our PBS team present at national conference

On Thursday 16th May, our charity’s Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team were delighted to attend and present at the 2024 Bild International PBS Conference in Liverpool.

Community Integrated Care logo and BILD logo Hosted by the British Institute of Learning Disabilities, the event explored the topic of shifting the narrative of PBS from crisis to prevention and improving lives through practice leadership in PBS.

Our charity’s Senior PBS Strategy and Practice Development Manager, Victoria Martin, and PBS Specialist Practitioner, Denise Kennedy, were asked by BILD to speak at the conference, and share our charity’s approach to PBS as an example of best practice.

They joined international speakers including experts by experience, PBS practitioners, professionals and academics from across the care sector, to deliver a session on the difference between service leadership and practice leadership.

Speaking on the event, Victoria said, “We were delighted to be asked by BILD to present at their conference and share our charity’s approach to PBS and practice leadership. It’s something that we’re really passionate about. We’re always looking at how we can lead by example and continually improve and develop our practice so that the people we support live the best lives possible.”

“We’re so proud of how far we’ve come and have lots of great lessons learnt and positive case studies, so it was great to share this with other professionals in the care sector, and hear more from others about their experiences in PBS too.”
