Norfolk Road celebrates ‘Good’ care ratings

Community Integrated Care is thrilled to celebrate our charity’s Norfolk Road having recently achieved ‘Good’ ratings in their latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

Norfolk Road, a registered care home in Cumbria, is homColleagues and people supported at Norfolk Road Care Home stand outside the building with ig smiles. They are holding a banner which reads 'We're rated Good!'e to five people with a range of support needs, supported by a team of 16 colleagues. The team were praised for providing a safe and well-led service in their latest CQC inspection, with the inspector commenting on how they were empowering people with opportunities to try new activities that enhanced and enriched their lives.

The inspector said of the visit: “The team focused on people’s strengths and promoted what they could do, so people had a fulfilling and meaningful everyday life. Care was provided in a person-centred and flexible way and people were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives”

Inspectors also spoke to relatives about the service who said: “The team treat people with care and kindness and support them in a personalised way.” Relatives also spoke of their family members who had lived at the home for several years and were “very happy” and thought it was “the best place they’d ever lived.”

The CQC summarised the report, saying that: “The values of the provider and team meant people led inclusive and empowered lives.”

Service Leader Joanne Owen said: “I’m incredibly proud of this outstanding achievement. It’s been an amazing year at Norfolk Road and the team have worked incredibly hard, so this news is just the icing on the cake. I see my colleagues growing in confidence each day. They are always striving to support people to live their best lives possible, brimming with exciting ideas and helping people achieve their individual goals no matter what the barriers.”

Managing Director Samantha Brennan said: “We’re thrilled to see the Norfolk Road team achieve a ‘Good’ rating in their recent CQC inspection. The inspectors not only acknowledged the team’s caring and compassionate approach but also praised their person-centred support. This brilliant outcome is a testament to the creativity and commitment the team bring to the service every day, enabling the people we support to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.”
