In her new role, Elaine will take lead responsibility for Community Integrated Care’s overall organisational development strategy, overseeing the charity’s HR and Learning & Development functions.

Elaine’s appointment coincides with the launch of the charity’s new Five Year Corporate Strategy, which will see Community Integrated Care pursue a highly ambitious programme of investment, development and change – aimed at delivering the highest standards of care to the people it supports, enhancing its workforce and growing by 30% over the next five years.

Elaine joins Community Integrated Care from Action for Employment (A4e), an organisation which runs a range of front-line public services, including helping the long-term unemployed back into work and providing education services within prisons. Elaine has extensive experience in a number of senior HR roles across a variety of sectors, including the aviation and pharmaceutical industries, where she has delivered the full range of people services and HR strategy.

Neil Matthewman, Chief Executive of Community Integrated Care, says, “We are delighted to have appointed someone of Elaine’s calibre for what will be a key role within our organisation. This is a crucial but exciting time for us, as we continue to shape and develop the long-term future of our charity.”

He adds: “At the core of our Five Year Strategy is a bold new vision – to become the UK’s Leading Health and Social Care Charity – and this has at its heart not only the people we support, but the people delivering that support too – our staff. We not only want to become an organisation with leading services, but to become a leading employer, with leading people too, and I believe that Elaine’s knowledge and experience will be vital in helping us to achieve these goals.”

Elaine Gilbert says, “I’m thrilled to be joining Community Integrated Care at such a significant time in the charity’s history. In such a true ‘people’ organisation, we simply could not achieve a fraction of our good work without the commitment and dedication of our staff, and it is my role to ensure that we properly invest in our workforce, both now and in the future, to prepare us for both the opportunities and challenges ahead.”

She continues: “To deliver the very best services, we must have the right people and culture in place, so that we can genuinely transform Community Integrated Care and achieve our vision of becoming the UK’s Leading Health and Social Care Charity. I am proud to be working with an organisation at the inception of such an aspirational journey and am committed to harnessing the passion and potential of our employees to create an organisation where people genuinely feel proud to work.”
