Our team of dedicated colleagues at Muirs Court provide support to five adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
In their recent inspection report, Care Inspectorate regulators awarded the team a ‘Very Good’ rating overall, specifically assessing the care home to be ‘Very Good’ for ‘How well the service supports people’s wellbeing’ and ‘How good is the leadership’.
The report commended the care provided at Muirs Court, saying “care was delivered in a personalised way, where people were treated with dignity, respect and genuine affection” and that “there was a focus on ensuring that people were having positive outcomes from the care and support being offered.”
The inspectors evaluated how people were supported to get the most out of life – noting the team’s dedication to keep people active and encouraging people to participate in meaningful activities both within the home and in the local community. This includes making meals, spending time with family and going on trips to the theatre.
Praise was also given to the way in which the team planned support, stating, “people’s care and support was detailed within a personal plan. These were personalised with good information about people’s needs and wishes” and “family members were welcomed and involved in shaping the support that their relative received.”
Alongside this, positive feedback was shared from relatives who said that the service gave them “peace of mind” and that their family members were “well cared for”.
Special mention was given to the management of the team, with regulators reporting that the current manager was described by the people supported and their family members as “brilliant”, “approachable” and “responsive”.
