Morningside ‘Good’ In All Areas

Community Integrated Care is delighted to announce that Morningside in Cumbria has been rated ‘Good’ in all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), acknowledging their commitment to improvement.

Shelley Wilkinson and Michael Finneran from MorningsideThe service supports four people with learning disabilities, and has seen a remarkable turnaround in just six months since their last inspection in December 2016, which rated them as ‘Requiring Improvement’.

Noting great enhancements to the leadership and quality assurance at Morningside, the CQC Inspector praised the team’s outcome-focussed approach to staffing levels, and the service’s environment, which has undergone significant refurbishment.

Teresa McGuiness, Service Leader at Morningside, says: “This CQC Report is the result of a lot of hard work from the team – with the support of our colleagues here in Cumbria we’ve been able to really turn Morningside around.”

Phil Pegler, Interim Chief Executive Officer for Community Integrated Care, says: “This is a fantastic success story, and proof that with hard work and the right attitude, things can really change for the better. Congratulations to the team at Morningside – it’s clear to see how much work has gone into making this a service to be proud of.”

Phil adds: “We continue to make progress in this key focus area, with more and more services receiving positive ratings in recent months. This is testament to the outstanding work that goes on to make sure our services are great places to be supported. Well done to everyone involved!”
