Linda Grove treated to B&Q makeover!

The people we support at Linda Grove in Portsmouth were treated to a dream home makeover this month, thanks to the B&Q Foundation and their Trustees, donating their time and resources to rejuvenate the service.

Trustees from the B&Q Foundation join colleagues from Community Integrated Care celebrating the transformation of Linda Grove, in the service's newly decorated garden.

The B&Q Foundation supports charities with grants, volunteering time and home improvement resources to create better, safer places for people who need them most.

From improving accommodation for people with no home of their own, to creating community gardens – they give back to organisations who are making a difference to others, to build better communities for us all.

The team at Linda Grove decided to apply for one of the B&Q Foundation’s grants so that they could give the service a well-deserved refresh.

However, after hearing about the amazing work of our colleagues and the incredible people we support, Trustees from the B&Q Foundation decided to personally offer their time and volunteer to lend a hand with the transformation.

From painting to gardening, the Trustees worked alongside a team of our dedicated colleagues, who also volunteered their own time, to transform the lounge, two rooms and the garden.

Over the course of seven hours, they made an incredible difference to the homes of the people supported at Linda Grove, and learnt all about the brilliant work we do at Community Integrated Care. This even inspired the Trustees to commit to working with five other services in the area.

Natalie Rayner, Regional Manager for Linda Grove, said, “Having the B&Q Foundation’s Trustees join us to help transform Linda Grove was an amazing experience. The improvements have made a real difference to the people supported – to say we’re grateful is an understatement.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to the B&Q Foundation and their Trustees for their generosity and contribution to creating a beautiful space for the people we support. And of course, to our incredible colleagues who went above and beyond to help out on the day.”
