Glenwood celebrating ‘Good’ CQC rating

Glenwood, a Community Integrated Care service in Widnes, has been awarded with a ‘Good’ rating in all areas from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The service supports 12 people with learning disabilities, mental health concerns and complex needs in the community.  

The team at Glenwood are celebrating being rated ‘Good’ in all areas, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for the people the home supports, which are Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led. Glenwood

The report praised the care provided at Glenwood as “people were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and colleagues supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. Dignity and respect were embedded into the service and colleagues spoke at length of how they ensured this was practiced.”

The inspectors also praised the relationship between the people supported and the team at the service commenting, “people were treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care”. The report commented that relatives consistently told inspectors how people supported at Glenwood were treated with kindness from the support team.

Community Integrated Care is one of Britain’s biggest and most successful health and social care charities. It supports over 3500 people across England and Scotland who have learning disabilities, mental health concerns, autism and dementia.
