Leroy Sane makes special donation

The Bayern Munich and former Manchester City star Leroy Sane has made a special seasonal donation to our Chairty. Helping people who access our charity’s care and support services in Greater Manchester this Christmas and into 2021, the Germany international is making a real difference to people at risk of loneliness, isolation and entering personal crisis.

The football star approached our charity with the offer of support out of gratitude and respect to the Manchester community. This is his Christmas gift back to the city that he was part of for four seasons.

His donation will enable our charity to purchase Christmas presents for people they support who do not have active family members to buy for them. It will also help to provide additional support and Christmas meals to people who may have gone without company on Christmas Day.

A proportion of the donation will also be reserved to help people who join their services having experienced a personal crisis. It will enable our charity to purchase essential items for people who may be referred to the organisation with limited possessions, supporting them to rebuild their life with our support.

John Hughes, Director of Partnerships and Communities at Community Integrated Care says: “We were thrilled and surprised when we were approached by Leroy with this offer of the support. 2021 has been an incredibly tough year for the social care sector. Leroy has recognised this and focussed his donation on two really important issues. With his support, we can better assist people who are referred to our charity in difficult circumstances. It also ensures that no one we support in Greater Manchester will go without a present or company on Christmas day. His donation will change lives and we are incredibly grateful.”
