We’re Marking World Mental Health Day!

Community Integrated Care today marked World Mental Health Day, a special day to raise awareness of mental health issues and advocate against social stigma, across its charity.

The day, which is celebrated worldwide, provides an opportunity for organisations to come together and bring attention to mental illness and its major effects on peoples’ lives. Mental Health Week

It also gives Community Integrated Care the chance to highlight the fantastic work it has done to address mental health stigma in the workplace and introduce new activities and approaches. The charity’s recent Autumn Roadshow, an event which brings together over 400 of the organisation’s senior leaders, focused on the emotional and mental wellbeing of colleagues.

To celebrate this important day, Community Integrated Care encouraged colleagues to take a moment to talk about how they’re feeling, to help normalise the topic of mental health and wellbeing.

The organisation asked its colleagues to take a minute to ask the powerful question, ‘How are you?’ to those surrounding them. To help facilitate these conversations, the charity handed out Kit-Kats, encouraging those in Support Service’s to ‘take a break’.

Earlier this week, Support Services also invited in mindfullness coach, Russell Treasure, who hosted a session to over 30 of our colleagues. Mindfulness is a meditation practice that helps you focus your full attention on what is happening in the present – to your own thoughts and feelings, and to the world around you. It is a great way to manage stress and boost focus, patience and energy, and recieved great feedback from the people who took part.

Community Integrated Care have invested in a number of projects, schemes and partnerships to help improve colleague experience and wellbeing – the commitment to investing in it’s people has recently seen the care provider honoured with the title of Charity of the Year at the pretigious Charity Times awards.
