An award-winning weekend for our charity!
As last week drew to a close, Community Integrated Care was delighted to celebrate winning four Great British Care Awards across two regional awards ceremonies, recognising our teams and colleagues amongst the top in the care sector.
Hosted by social care magazine, Care Talk, the awards celebrate the very best in the social care sector across the UK. Winners from the regional events will go through to prestigious National Finals taking place in 2024.
The Great North East and Scotland Care Awards
The award-winning weekend kicked off on Thursday (9th November) at the Great North East and Scotland Care Awards in Newcastle, where our charity had nine brilliant finalists.
The evening saw our charity celebrate a trio of winners, starting with Chris Christie, Service Leader in the North East, being awarded the ‘Frontline Leader’ accolade for his commitment to growth and exceptional leadership. Judges commended Chris, saying “Chris shows passion and genuine love for his job. Outstanding commitment, outstanding attitude, and an all-round lovely man!”
This was shortly followed by the team at Mallard Drive in Aberdeenshire winning the ‘Putting People First Award’, for supporting independence and aspirational opportunities in the community for the people they support.
And the team from Wordsworth View in Sheffield proudly rounded off our winners at the event, as they were presented with the ‘Housing With Care’ accolade for providing outstanding support and empowering people to live fulfilling lives in their own homes.
Neil Farnwoth, Community Integrated Care’s Head of Operations for the North East and Yorkshire, said, “It was a fantastic evening of celebration. We were proud to see so many of our brilliant colleagues and teams from across the North East and Scotland shortlisted and recognised for their commitment to supporting people to live incredible lives. A special congratulations to our winners, Chris, Mallard Drive and Wordsworth View – you are all truly deserving and exemplary representatives for our charity.”
The Great North West Care Awards
Continuing the week’s success, Community Integrated Care was also proud to celebrate on Saturday (11th November) at the Great North West Care Awards.
With six brilliant finalists, the team were delighted to see Phillip Gahan, Support Worker from our Holmdale service in Runcorn, awarded the Support Worker accolade, praising his passion for making the lives of those he supports better, every day. Vicky Battersby, one of our Support Workers from Wigan was also recognised, receiving a Highly Commended in the same category.
Paula Dodman, Community Integrated Care’s Head of Operations for the North East and Yorkshire, said, “We were over the moon to celebrate an outstanding crop of finalists at the Great North West Care Awards and seeing Phillip win the Support Worker Award was the cherry on the cake. We’re really proud of all of our shortlisted nominees for being recognised amongst the very best in the sector. The work that our teams do every day to ensure the best lives possible for the people we support is inspiring -they’re all winners in our eyes!”
