Community Integrated Care Appoints Director of Innovation

Martin McGuigan Director of InnovationCommunity Integrated Care is delighted to announce the appointment of Martin McGuigan to its newly created Director of Innovation post.

This exciting role reflects the charity’s strategic ambition to becoming the UK’s Leading Health and Social Care Charity by 2017 and will see Martin join the organisation’s Executive Team, helping to shape and develop the charity’s plans for transformation over the coming years.

Martin joined Community Integrated Care as Regional Director in January 2012, as part of the charity’s organisational development programme – The Big Change. He has since gone on to make a significant impact across the business both in terms of growth and culture, and will now take up this new role on a 12-month secondment.

Neil Matthewman, Chief Executive, says: “We have made a bold commitment to become a truly leading organisation, and inherent in this is a responsibility: to show that we are genuinely pushing the boundaries within our sector, looking to the wider industry and beyond, to create, shape, and innovate – leading the way for others. As someone with an incredible passion for our sector, Martin is the ideal candidate for this important role, one which I hope demonstrates just how serious we are about making our ambitious vision a reality.”

Martin McGuigan says: “When I joined Community Integrated Care I could see that this was an organisation with an appetite for real transformation and I wanted to be a part of that. So it’s an absolute honour to have been chosen for a role which gives me a clear mandate to look outside of our organisation and identify new ways to deliver cutting-edge services, develop the talent within our business and ultimately, improve the lives of the people we support.”

“We also recognise that the new Care Act demands that all providers must start to think more creatively about how we will deliver genuinely outcome-focused, deeply personalised services and I believe this role shows a real proactive commitment from our organisation to doing this.“
